Trend Alert: Showing the Sexy One Shoulder

Despite the cold weather coming our way, this new trend involves showing off a little bit of skin. A major trend for the fall 2017 season is the one shoulder where a top will show a classy amount of shoulder. I personally think this look could be sophisticated yet casual at the same time. Here are a few outfits that you can style after if you dare to rock that shoulder.

Untitled #263
This is one of my favorite outfits for just a day out or when you don’t want to wear Nike shorts to class anymore. I love this simple white top and cut off as it gives a laid back look. I added Adidas shoes for comfort and to give it some edge.

Of course, I cannot do a trend without having a sexy outfit! I love this bodycon one sleeve top with a choker built in. With it being a high neck top I would style it with a ponytail. My favorite fall color is burgundy so I wanted to incorporate it a little bit as well as a few gold accents. My styling tip is to try to match your shoes with your bag so the outfit is not all over the place!

When I first saw this top I was absolutely in love! Since the top had a lot going on I wanted to style it with plain bottoms, so I added some culottes and some nude heels. Since there was not a lot of color to the outfit, I added the colorful clutch to give it more of a fun twist to it. This outfit is great if you’re going to a function, it’s sophisticated yet fun!

I wanted to create another casual outfit so I found this gingham print dress which is so adorable! I am a minimalistic dresser so I just added a sweet necklace and some white, lace up espadrilles. This is an outfit you can wear to a picnic or just to walk around a city (especially in Europe). Since the straw bag was rather popular in the summer I thought it would make the look more laid back.

I absolutely love this dress! If you have stayed with me these past few years I have been a huge fan of lace! The cut cutouts in the middle make the dress a little bit sexy and make me which I had the body and the place to wear this to! I love a good smokey eye and tousled hair to give it a relaxed look to it.
Remember that trends may come and go but always stay true to your original style. I hope you have fun with this trend and I hope to see you in my next post! I am so glad to be back!

Playing In the Sun

The other day, my oldest friend from high school and I decided to get together to have a cute little photoshoot. We love photography and I wanted to test my new camera that I got over a year ago and haven’t really used it. So we decided to go to a local park that had a farm and a few cute animals and decided to take rustic pictures.

I suggest if you are trying to catch up with old high school friends, try something that you both enjoy and make a day out of it. No matter how hot it may be outside, you can always end up grabbing some ice cream later to cool down.

Having been home for about 2 months now from South Carolina, I have become a little southern girl with my cowboy boots. I was not expecting to come home with a love for preppy clothes, cowboy boots, and southern hospitality but, apparently, I do. Still not a big fan of Lilly Pulitzer, oops!

Happy Fourth Of July! Stay safe, and enjoy yourself and I will see y’all soon!

Sorority Recruitment Outfits

Hello! Long time, no see! I am currently trying to get back into blogging and possibly YouTube so please bare with me.

As I finished my Freshman Year of college, I am preparing for my Sophomore Year. I have decided that I would Rush during my first few weeks back at school. I have watched SO many, not an exaggeration, ‘sorority outfits and what to expect videos’ to get an idea of the process. I am currently rematching the TV show “Greek” and reading blogs which makes me more excited about the whole thing!

I will be providing an idea of what I might possibly wear during the rounds and hope you get some inspiration from them as well!.

Round 1and 2: This round is when you are in your groups and visit each sorority house. Usually it takes 2 days for each round, depending on how many houses there are. This day requires you to wear the shirt that you were given with cute shorts or skirt and comfortable walking shoes.

I found these shorts from Francesca’s so make sure to find a pair that will match your t shirts. I am in to flowy shorts because it is going to be extremely hot and I hate the feeling of sweaty jean shorts. You will need to find shorts that are appropriate and great to make a first impression so no rips and no short shorts.
I picked shorts over skirts because me and skirts/dresses do not have the best relationship because they always tend to fly up :).

Round 3: For my school, this is the Philanthropy round. It is different for every school so make sure to learn what the schedule is. This round is where you dress up a bit, wear a cute little sundress and some heels (preferably wedges) that you can possibly walk in. You will be able to learn about each of their philanthropy and their activities.

All these dresses are from Lulus. I have been obsessed with the cold shoulder look so the first 2 I absolutely love. Some are casual sundresses, some are more fancier, I think it depends on how you are feeling that day.

Round 4: Preference is the time where you need to be the most dressiest. It is the final round during recruitment where you will visit the final 2 houses. This is a really important round so you want to be your best and look your best. You will need to find a cocktail style dress and a nice pair heels.

All these dresses are also from Lulus. Yes, I absolutely love the trend of off the shoulder. These are some of my picks and I might end up getting the purple one. I have been told that the active sisters wear black so try to stay away from that the best you can.

Round 5: Bid Day is the last day of Rush where after everything, you will find out what sorority gave you a bid. This is the most exciting day and most comfortable outfit by wearing a tank top, gym shorts and running shoes because you might have to run far to your new house!

I hope you are excited for Rush as much as I am and I hope I helped with inspiration on what to wear. I will try to create a blogpost on what I end up wearing.

Don’t be nervous, have fun, and be yourself!

Until next time!

Trend Alert: Off the Shoulder

One of my favorite trends right now is the off the shoulder look. I find this look to be sophisticated yet edgy at the same time. Shoulders have been considered scandalous, mostly at my school, for the longest time and it is time to show some skin.

Untitled #245

Burnt orange is a big color for the summer and this outfit reminds me of something that I would wear if I was visiting a beach in another country. I like adding a few pieces of jewelry so the focus is not taken away from the dress. I love the hat how it adds a bit of a bohemian touch to it so I decided to add a bag and shoes to match it.

This is a different type of style, known as the ‘cold shoulder’. I love the top of the dress it is quite different with unique colors. I like to match shoes with the bags. I imagine this dress being worn on the islands of Greece just enjoying the view. With a high ponytail, the hoop earrings will look amazing with the outfit.
Untitled #247

This look is a bit edgy with the ripped shorts and the black shoes. This is something that I might possibly wear to a music festival or just a night out to town. I love the top with the lacey details as it contrasts with the rest of the outfit to give it a soft touch.
Untitled #248

This outfit is also different as the off the shoulder trend is on a romper. I love the bright colors that are perfect for spring and summer, especially the blue is huge for the season. I love blue and to be able to add color to this outfit, it creates the perfect touch. Since the shoes have gold metal, I decided to add a few pieces of accessories that match the metals. The beach hat also adds a fun touch to it.
Untitled #249

This a casual outfit where the floral top juxtaposes distressed boyfriend jeans. I added espadrilles because they are easy and fun to wear. Espadrilles are the perfect summer shoes because they do not have to horrible to wear in such hot conditions.
I absolutely love this trend and you will be able to find similar items at Urban Outfitters, Zara, Forever 21 and many more!

Hurricane | OOTD

Last week, I had gone to Charleston to visit the school and a few family members. Charleston is literally one of my favorite places to visit and I encourage any one to go there. For me, I am really into history and cute little towns and being from Annapolis this is hopefully a future home for me. It gives me the vibes of being home but at the same time, its warmer and there is more to do and see.

We drove in during a hurricane from Columbia, hence the title and my favorite Halsey song, it was sunny as soon we got there. It was quite windy, not always a good idea to wear a dress when it is, so I wrapped my hair band around the skirt of the dress to keep it from flying up so it is better to have it high on my thigh rather than everyone seeing everything right! I always tend to wear skirts and dresses on the worst day possible to wear them.

I absolutely love this dress because it reminds me so much of Free People but at a much cheaper price. It was very flowy and bohemian and great for the spring time weather. I wore my mighty converse to be comfortable for most of the time while walking. And yes I am wearing a bralette because it is comfortable for the long day I was going to have and it gives it more of a boho feel to it.
