Dorm Room Essentials from Bed, Bath and Beyond*

I have been waiting for this this time of year to finally buy materials for my dorm room. There was never an idea what I had wanted to do to my room for theme wise, it is rather about what I like and incorporate with everything else. I am the type of person who loves color, more like too much color, so I decided to buy items that will not make my side of the room like a rainbow and won’t clash with my roommate and her colors.

I love the colors blue and gray and that they were the perfect soft touch to my room. Being extremely into fashion, I had to buy a set of hangers for all of my clothes. I think these hangers are useful because they are quite slim that no matter how many pieces of clothing I have, I would still have some room left in the closet. They have rubber ends so it helps keeping the clothes from falling off.

The gray box is a cute little bin for under bed storage, which includes striped fabric inside. I wanted something that could be neutral in the room and I was never the biggest fan of the big, see through, plastic containers. I liked the ones from Bed. Bath and Beyond because they came in a few different sizes and colors such as mint, black and gray.

I bought a small make up holder because, other than the pretty blue color, I do not have the largest collection of makeup. If you are looking for something that holds all of your makeup, think of the size of your collection. There are a few different sizes available, not matter how big the collection may be. A trick that I use is that I like to keep all of my makeup brushes in a pencil holder, it is organized and makes the room pretty based on the design of it.

This cute little garbage can was pretty unique and small enough to hide underneath my desk. I wasn’t too interested in those metal trashcans so I decided to find something different. The trashcan comes in a few different colors, including splash paint, which I had wanted to get. To keep the colors neutral, I opted for this one.

Being a college student, laundry is one of the big experiences that I will have to go through. I decided to buy a laundry bag that is completely durable and cute at the same time. Who says laundry has to be mundane? So to make it fun, I had to buy something that I love, especially one with gold polka dots.

Bed, Bath and Beyond has helped me find my college essentials without making it so difficult. I love shopping here for college materials because they have basic and unique finds at decent prices. I also love their decor and bedding that is reasonable for college student budgets. Bed, Bath and Beyond has helped me find everything on my list for my dorm.

London Day 3 & 4

On the 3rd day, we decided to check out the Changing of the Guards because we were not going to be able to see it on our tour. Although it was not the most exciting thing ever, I kind of got a upfront view of the inside gate. Waiting for that day that I marry royalty.

My tour officially started that day and we took a bus around the city especially the main tourist landmarks. I swear I love this city and hope one day (when this whole Brexit fixes itself) that I might live there.

The next day we went to the Tower of London, I realized that the history that occurred in the city was far cruel than I knew. After exploring the Crown Jewels and hearing the stories of the two princes, we took a speed boat down the Thames which was absolute best thing ever! And seeing my favorite blogger, Eleanor Calder, on the same boat a few weeks later made me excited.

We went on the London Eye and I do not think I will ever go on it again. Being in a small pod, high in the air, there is not much of an escape route and feeling it abruptly start again and nearing knocking me over ended with me sitting on the bench and gripping the side.

Afterwards we walked towards the Covent Gardens but first finding a Carousel and a hidden skate park, like this city has hidden beauty. We had gone to the Charles Dicken’s Cafe for some food and went down towards the market. I swear every time I start to head back where he had came from, I find a cute street that I have to go down to visit!

I love London.

London Day 1 & 2

On June 13th, my grandma and I took an overnight flight to London, England! Having felt anxious for the 7 hour flight, we made it around 6 am London time and as soon as I got there, I felt refreshed. The airport even had cute coffee shops that I would see in vlogs. FYI they offered me a drink on the flight, I am 18 so it is considered legal in England, but I opted for tea.

After an insane drive and a 2 hour nap, we had tea planned at the restaurant in our hotel. To my surprise, it was one of those fancy hotels, because I am so used to Holiday Inns that I never knew what it was like to stay at a very fancy hotel. This hotel is thanks to the tour company that we used, Tauck, and they treated us like royalty.

It was rather weird being an American and viewing England’s very proper attitude and that such being a customer they literally treated like I was the Queen, only I can wish. The food is so different that I ate about 3 cucumber and cream cheese sandwich slices, I am at least trying. I got the Hibiscus Tea which was not too strong or bitter for my liking so I quite enjoyed it. I especially loved the centerpieces, especially the flowers and I have also learned that I am not a big fan of jelly. The dress I wore to tea if from Free People.

Our hotel was in the Marble Arch neighborhood so we decided to find it and we did not realize how close we were to Hyde Park! So our effort to stay awake was to walk walk around the city so we, I mean I, came with the idea to go to Madame Tussaud’s . I had to see the Zalfie wax figures of course! I texted my mom the picture and she actually thought that I had met them, sadly I did not 😦 .

We headed back for the hotel so my grandma fell asleep while I watched the people from out hotel window. Other than having a cereal bar for dinner, I really enjoyed the first night in London because it was so magical to me.

DAY 2

The second day started bright and early because we had to catch a bus to head to Harry Potter Studios of course! I am a huge Harry Potter fan and a movie fan so going there was a complete dream! I might move to England to work for a film company, but that is just an idea for now.

Here are the few of many photos I took and I highly suggest going even if you are not a Harry Potter fan, it was so cool to see how everything was created. I even rode a broom in the green screen room which I am not to sure if I am allowed to upload but if I am, it will possibly be up on a vlog. Ravenclaw for life!

After we left, we took a walk through Hyde Park and towards Harrods, legit the biggest place I have ever seen. Instead of buying anything, we ended having the most delicious ice cream in the cutest shop that gave me an idea to having my own ice cream shop.

Just look how yummy the ice cream looks! I do not really count my steps, but in total we walked 7 miles, gotta keep up my summer bod!

Trend Alert: Off the Shoulder

One of my favorite trends right now is the off the shoulder look. I find this look to be sophisticated yet edgy at the same time. Shoulders have been considered scandalous, mostly at my school, for the longest time and it is time to show some skin.

Burnt orange is a big color for the summer and this outfit reminds me of something that I would wear if I was visiting a beach in another country. I like adding a few pieces of jewelry so the focus is not taken away from the dress. I love the hat how it adds a bit of a bohemian touch to it so I decided to add a bag and shoes to match it.

This is a different type of style, known as the ‘cold shoulder’. I love the top of the dress it is quite different with unique colors. I like to match shoes with the bags. I imagine this dress being worn on the islands of Greece just enjoying the view. With a high ponytail, the hoop earrings will look amazing with the outfit.

This look is a bit edgy with the ripped shorts and the black shoes. This is something that I might possibly wear to a music festival or just a night out to town. I love the top with the lacey details as it contrasts with the rest of the outfit to give it a soft touch.

This outfit is also different as the off the shoulder trend is on a romper. I love the bright colors that are perfect for spring and summer, especially the blue is huge for the season. I love blue and to be able to add color to this outfit, it creates the perfect touch. Since the shoes have gold metal, I decided to add a few pieces of accessories that match the metals. The beach hat also adds a fun touch to it.

This a casual outfit where the floral top juxtaposes distressed boyfriend jeans. I added espadrilles because they are easy and fun to wear. Espadrilles are the perfect summer shoes because they do not have to horrible to wear in such hot conditions.
I absolutely love this trend and you will be able to find similar items at Urban Outfitters, Zara, Forever 21 and many more!

Trend Alert: Comfort At Work*

As I grow up, I am always thinking about my life during and after college. Although I am always questioning what career lies ahead of me, I know what I need to be comfortable in a professional setting. Comfort is always in so make sure you find a nice pair of comfy pants from my new favorite store, Betabrand, to be able to add to your collection of work outfits!

Betabrand’s pants are so great because they provide comfort into outfits no matter the occasion. Each style is different and fun to suit everyone’s unique look. From cropped to flare to straight leg, there are too many options to choose from. I absolutely love these pants because they are not like the typical professional work wear, they feel like yoga pants with the look of the work clothes. Also they are very affordable, which is always a major plus!

When I used to think of professional outfits, I automatically think of gray and bland patterns and uncomfortable shoes. It may be boring sitting at a desk for about 9 hours of the day, but  it does not have to be when wearing fun colors and comfortable clothing.

I am the type of person who is always leaning towards the black and the whites and adds a pop of color to each outfit. I found these pants first and had to find some pieces to go with it. The striped bottoms look comfy enough to wear all day and adding a rolled up cuff at the end with matching sneakers was a must. I added a choker because although it is a professional environment does not always mean you should forget your personal style. I added this paint splattered bag to give the outfit a pop of color without it being too much.

I added another outfit with sneakers because they have been one of the biggest trends lately. To tackle this trend, I believe you have to find a perfect pair of sneakers that can go with anything and then you are ready to run the world! Skirts can be comfortable but if not, the top I added can give it a little comfort and a laid back look to it. Matching jewelry is my favorite when styling an outfit so it adds a bit of personality to the outfit so I love how the blue of the skirt matches the necklace. Without wanting the colors to make the outfit busy, I added a purse to match the shoes.

Comfort usually comes either from the bottoms you wear or the sneakers you walk in so this outfit includes comfort times two. These sneakers come in the most beautiful shade of gray that I have seen, it tends to go with everything. Adding comfy culottes to the mix gives the outfit a bit of a blogger look to them. I added a plain white top with a blazer to match the shoes but not without a pop of color. I thought this color was so fun and to be able to have a purse, a belt and a necklace to pair with was rather exciting.

Prom 2016

High school has finally ended for me, so despite my busy schedule I had one last hurrah with my friends at prom. I knew there was a lot of hype around prom but I went in with an open mind and I had one of the best nights.

I had gone with a date, who I had asked, but it is perfectly fine going with just friends and not with a date. The whole date concept is something that is implanted in our heads so I thought it would be better to go with a good friend of mine to have fun one night before I leave for school.

My track teammate mentioned I looked like Angelina Jolie in my dress and I literally died! After a fun night at prom we ended up at a burger joint by my school known as Steak and Shake where we pretended to be rich people who wear such clothing as an everyday thing. Although my feet did hurt, I could not have asked for anything else. I am going to miss everyone next year.

Croquet | OOTD

Every year in Annapolis, there is a croquet match between St. John’s College and the Naval Academy, the two main schools in downtown. It is such an event, everyone tends to flock to the St. John’s campus dressed up in their preppiest outfit for the biggest even in the season.

I went last year and it was an interesting experience so me and a few friends of mine went again this year, so you will get a glimpse of what it is like in an upcoming vlog!
