Holiday Outfits 2016

During this time of the year, it is always hard to figure out what to wear to holiday parties and different events. I have created a few outfits that I would wear to celebrate the holiday season! I hope you will be inspired by these as well.

The dress is involves on of the trendy fabrics of the season, velvet. I love velvets especially when they are a garnet color, I am also a huge fan of the leather collar. The leather collar has a cut out to give it an edgy feel. I wanted to match the color to the shoes and the bag soI decided to pair more black leather with the outfit. The shoes are my absolute favorite as they have a chunky heel. I wanted to add a cute plaid scarf along with sparkly eyeshadow with a plain lip.

This outfit is rather glamorous and bombshell like. I love this pale pink because it is easy to add statement pieces of it. Hip hugging and body con dresses are a major trend of the season. I absolutely love this fur coat, faux fur of course, as it gives it a diva feel. I paired it with red pieces because it represents that holiday colors along with making the outfit more dramatic.

You don’t always have wear a one piece to dress up. I paired this velvet tank with this leather skirt with the most amazing design at the bottom of the skirt. I wanted to have the focus more on the top so I decided to make everything black or a neutral color. A teased ponytail would make this outfit feel more edgy.

There is always the one to dress up a bit girly like, including me sometimes, so I decided to add gold and soft pink tones. I love the design of the dress and the bag can help provide comfort by adding a few pick me ups or hide a little emergency kit if there is a wardrobe malfunction. I absolutely love the hair style because it is not too much and the eye shadow has more of a bronzy tone to it.
I hope you all had a nice holiday season and happy new year! Let’s hope 2017 is even better!

Georgetown | OOTD

Today I went down to Georgetown to try to find some prom dresses, with one idea but no luck. I ‘vlogged’, like a very failed attempt of vlogging and I work one of my new favorite outfits. I went to show my mom the university and we walked by beautiful homes so I posed in front of one.2016-01-15 02.19.322016-01-15 02.19.37

Now I am looking at the pictures and my sweater is a little oversized.

Trend Alert: Winter Pastels

No one has to wear dull dark colors in the Winter anymore! Pastels may seem out of place in the upcoming cold seasons when they are more common for Spring and Summer. It gives this upcoming season full of life and much more to enjoy about shopping. Despite me wearing a lot of dark colors, I am excited for the beautiful pieces to style.

Here are a few of my favorite styles of the beautiful colors placed together.

Alis in 2013

I started this blog about early September of 2012 for a try in fashion and writing, I was not very into fashion back then but I wanted to see where it would lead me. I also had been writing poems, and reviews for my school newspaper that I dream of inspiring others through difficult times (but there is not that many posts about that on here).
Alis is like my name Elyse (A-lees) but I did not give that blog a name until later. It was actually the name the Starbucks person put on my first drink from there after I had freshmen orientation. I guess by ordering a drink from a popular place could lead into this, or it was the only idea I had to change my name. I had a blog post about the name change a while ago but I don’t feel like finding it oh well.
So as I sit here inside the little place where we are staying in the mountains of Colorado, while stars like Christina Aguilera, Shaun White and Leonardo DiCaprio are skiing (I’m literally sore from my lesson yesterday that I could not even walk back to the condo and I can barely even walk around, so don’t be like “girl what are you doing inside for writing this post about”) I would like to share my favorite posts of the year before 2013 closes.
I would like to saw thank you to everyone who has followed me, read my posts or get annoyed by my posts on instagram and twitter, you have made me all so happy as I have gotten over 2,160 + views and over 100 posts. A few websites have contacted with me about my outfits and I hope that soon, that you guys can get the courage to be my buddy (or not but that is perfectly cool because like, I really don’t know how to interact with others through online). Anyway, I should start rambling and share my favorite posts of the year that either inspire others or I absolutely loved the outfits, pictures or writings that I have shared with everyone of you!

I hope everyone of you has an awesome new year and hope 2014 treats us all well. I am currently in Colorado so I do not have any fancy as I did not think I should have brought something for New Years. So I might watch the fireworks in town or watch the Doctor Who episode that I have been trying to watch! Oh well, have a nice and safe New Year.

Polyvore-mas 12/7-12/13

I have not been updating about my sets on Polyvore, which you totally should check out! I have been slowly getting better at putting these sets together and I want you guys to know what you think!

y
This is the kind of outfit to wear when you plan on being lazy, the only time I wear boots or Uggs is when I do not feel like being in the mood to tie my converses. I love the pattern on the pants and the robin egg color sweater is to die for!

y
I tried to mix up some patterns a little bit to make it more fall like. It would be a nice outfit to wear when going to the bookstore which is one of my favorite places to go to!

y
I absolutely adore these shorts from TopShop!

y
Mixing different patterns together makes everything so exciting!y
If you have not noticed, I am very into the black and white trend as shown above. And that is one of the reasons my friends believe I am the reincarnation of my fashion idol, Coco Chanel.

y
Tartan, oh my gosh tartan. It is everywhere and I cannot get enough! I literally love these shoes from TopShop and my best guy friend found this adorable beanie at Forever 21 in NYC.

y
Cool colors are beautiful when… well.. when it is cool. Adding a fierce edge with printed heels and oh my gosh the beautiful, I cried of perfection, wonderful, too expensive that it is making me cringe bag by Alexander McQueen (RIP you legend).

y
I noticed a teacher at my school wearing a beautiful outfit, I had to create it!

Hope to see you again before Christmas as I will be in Colorado for a while and probably won’t update until after! But I promise I’ll be back before than!

How to Style a Puffy Jacket

Today, where I live is about to be hit with a winter storm. I am obviously procrastinating with math homework and decided to go outside in the snow to take pictures! I have been thinking of different outfits to style with this puffy jacket from H&M.013 014 016

I thought of a Christmas party look as well. I recommend not wearing heels in the snow, I was slipping and so close to falling down, but I surprisingly did not. And I did not notice how short the dress was, but I was not cold at all.

How I Style a Floppy Hat

I have been obsessed with Polyvore lately, I have been making more than one outfit a day! I think I might need an intervention, but before that happens I would like to share a piece that I have been obsessed with!
I don’t own a floppy hat, yet (I might ask for it for Christmas), I have had a fun time making sets to putting an outfit together with a black floppy hat (sadly the website I found the hat on, it is sold out).ySince it has gotten cold a lot lately, I have been making sets for the winter time. I absolutely love this dress from Jack Wills. It is totally perfect for a casual dinner or a walk through the park at night preferably in Central Park at night (if that’s allowed) with Christmas lights everywhere. But if you do, make sure you bundle up.

yThis a more classier outfit. I absolutely love the color of the coat. Mint is my new favorite color and I have always wanted to try the quilted skirt.yI find this outfit more casual, maybe for a school day or walking around the city. I have thought that since I am sometimes preppy (I guess I get it from living in Boston for 8 years), I believe this could be a little preppy.

y An outfit which I believe could work as it shows off my edgy style! I am literally obsessed with plaid!

yMy mostly TopShop outfit that I made a while ago!
