The other day, my oldest friend from high school and I decided to get together to have a cute little photoshoot. We love photography and I wanted to test my new camera that I got over a year ago and haven’t really used it. So we decided to go to a local park that had a farm and a few cute animals and decided to take rustic pictures.
I suggest if you are trying to catch up with old high school friends, try something that you both enjoy and make a day out of it. No matter how hot it may be outside, you can always end up grabbing some ice cream later to cool down.
Having been home for about 2 months now from South Carolina, I have become a little southern girl with my cowboy boots. I was not expecting to come home with a love for preppy clothes, cowboy boots, and southern hospitality but, apparently, I do. Still not a big fan of Lilly Pulitzer, oops!
Happy Fourth Of July! Stay safe, and enjoy yourself and I will see y’all soon!
As I grow up, I am always thinking about my life during and after college. Although I am always questioning what career lies ahead of me, I know what I need to be comfortable in a professional setting. Comfort is always in so make sure you find a nice pair of comfy pants from my new favorite store, Betabrand, to be able to add to your collection of work outfits!
Betabrand’s pants are so great because they provide comfort into outfits no matter the occasion. Each style is different and fun to suit everyone’s unique look. From cropped to flare to straight leg, there are too many options to choose from. I absolutely love these pants because they are not like the typical professional work wear, they feel like yoga pants with the look of the work clothes. Also they are very affordable, which is always a major plus!
When I used to think of professional outfits, I automatically think of gray and bland patterns and uncomfortable shoes. It may be boring sitting at a desk for about 9 hours of the day, but it does not have to be when wearing fun colors and comfortable clothing.
I am the type of person who is always leaning towards the black and the whites and adds a pop of color to each outfit. I found these pants first and had to find some pieces to go with it. The striped bottoms look comfy enough to wear all day and adding a rolled up cuff at the end with matching sneakers was a must. I added a choker because although it is a professional environment does not always mean you should forget your personal style. I added this paint splattered bag to give the outfit a pop of color without it being too much.
I added another outfit with sneakers because they have been one of the biggest trends lately. To tackle this trend, I believe you have to find a perfect pair of sneakers that can go with anything and then you are ready to run the world! Skirts can be comfortable but if not, the top I added can give it a little comfort and a laid back look to it. Matching jewelry is my favorite when styling an outfit so it adds a bit of personality to the outfit so I love how the blue of the skirt matches the necklace. Without wanting the colors to make the outfit busy, I added a purse to match the shoes.
Comfort usually comes either from the bottoms you wear or the sneakers you walk in so this outfit includes comfort times two. These sneakers come in the most beautiful shade of gray that I have seen, it tends to go with everything. Adding comfy culottes to the mix gives the outfit a bit of a blogger look to them. I added a plain white top with a blazer to match the shoes but not without a pop of color. I thought this color was so fun and to be able to have a purse, a belt and a necklace to pair with was rather exciting.
Every year in Annapolis, there is a croquet match between St. John’s College and the Naval Academy, the two main schools in downtown. It is such an event, everyone tends to flock to the St. John’s campus dressed up in their preppiest outfit for the biggest even in the season.
I went last year and it was an interesting experience so me and a few friends of mine went again this year, so you will get a glimpse of what it is like in an upcoming vlog!
Last week, I had gone to Charleston to visit the school and a few family members. Charleston is literally one of my favorite places to visit and I encourage any one to go there. For me, I am really into history and cute little towns and being from Annapolis this is hopefully a future home for me. It gives me the vibes of being home but at the same time, its warmer and there is more to do and see.
We drove in during a hurricane from Columbia, hence the title and my favorite Halsey song, it was sunny as soon we got there. It was quite windy, not always a good idea to wear a dress when it is, so I wrapped my hair band around the skirt of the dress to keep it from flying up so it is better to have it high on my thigh rather than everyone seeing everything right! I always tend to wear skirts and dresses on the worst day possible to wear them.
I absolutely love this dress because it reminds me so much of Free People but at a much cheaper price. It was very flowy and bohemian and great for the spring time weather. I wore my mighty converse to be comfortable for most of the time while walking. And yes I am wearing a bralette because it is comfortable for the long day I was going to have and it gives it more of a boho feel to it.
Today I went down to Georgetown to try to find some prom dresses, with one idea but no luck. I ‘vlogged’, like a very failed attempt of vlogging and I work one of my new favorite outfits. I went to show my mom the university and we walked by beautiful homes so I posed in front of one.
Now I am looking at the pictures and my sweater is a little oversized.
Don’t worry guys, I am still here. And there is something that I have been meaning to talk about and it is about self-esteem. For about 17 years or so of my life, I never felt comfortable about the way I looked, the way I acted or anything about myself. I always cared what people thought about me and that really had hurt me as a person and I have lived in a terrible state because of it.
Within the past year, I learned that people may have opinions, but I learned that it is how I react to them. Because of their opinions, I blamed pretty much horrible thing in my life and theirs on me. But I discovered that was not true.
I was in a relationship in the beginning, which ended not even after 3 weeks, which made me realize that I put myself in that situation because I did not love myself enough. That the only reason I became friends with mean and disloyal people is because I did not like myself at all and that was the reason that it put me in such a terrible state for so long, it is because I thought I deserved it.
I learned that if I want a happy life, that I have to create a positive outlook towards it and not a depressing one I had for so long. There will be days that I will get depressed about myself with my nose being too big and not looking like other girls and looking like a child with my chubby cheeks but I have to remind myself that God created me because I am different and beautiful in my own way. Happiness is about appreciating the things that you cannot change and accepting them. Find the beauty in little things because they are there for a reason.
My depressed state was created by my thoughts and could only be changed by them. Happiness is a weird and scared feeling for me but I will bear with it because it is better than what I had felt.
Let go of that boy who is going to flirt with other girls and let go of those friends who cannot see how amazing you are. Love yourself because you cannot be anyone else.
Two weeks ago, I got those artsy pictures that every senior tends to get. I would like to show you some of mine because I love them and my face is so weird that my eyes squint and the creases are created when I laugh and smile. Let’s just say I was laughing the whole time.
For a November day, it was quite windy and muddy but some of the trees still had their leaves.
