Playing In the Sun

The other day, my oldest friend from high school and I decided to get together to have a cute little photoshoot. We love photography and I wanted to test my new camera that I got over a year ago and haven’t really used it. So we decided to go to a local park that had a farm and a few cute animals and decided to take rustic pictures.

I suggest if you are trying to catch up with old high school friends, try something that you both enjoy and make a day out of it. No matter how hot it may be outside, you can always end up grabbing some ice cream later to cool down.

Having been home for about 2 months now from South Carolina, I have become a little southern girl with my cowboy boots. I was not expecting to come home with a love for preppy clothes, cowboy boots, and southern hospitality but, apparently, I do. Still not a big fan of Lilly Pulitzer, oops!

Happy Fourth Of July! Stay safe, and enjoy yourself and I will see y’all soon!

Dorm Room Essentials from Bed, Bath and Beyond*

I have been waiting for this this time of year to finally buy materials for my dorm room. There was never an idea what I had wanted to do to my room for theme wise, it is rather about what I like and incorporate with everything else. I am the type of person who loves color, more like too much color, so I decided to buy items that will not make my side of the room like a rainbow and won’t clash with my roommate and her colors.

I love the colors blue and gray and that they were the perfect soft touch to my room. Being extremely into fashion, I had to buy a set of hangers for all of my clothes. I think these hangers are useful because they are quite slim that no matter how many pieces of clothing I have, I would still have some room left in the closet. They have rubber ends so it helps keeping the clothes from falling off.

The gray box is a cute little bin for under bed storage, which includes striped fabric inside. I wanted something that could be neutral in the room and I was never the biggest fan of the big, see through, plastic containers. I liked the ones from Bed. Bath and Beyond because they came in a few different sizes and colors such as mint, black and gray.

I bought a small make up holder because, other than the pretty blue color, I do not have the largest collection of makeup. If you are looking for something that holds all of your makeup, think of the size of your collection. There are a few different sizes available, not matter how big the collection may be. A trick that I use is that I like to keep all of my makeup brushes in a pencil holder, it is organized and makes the room pretty based on the design of it.

This cute little garbage can was pretty unique and small enough to hide underneath my desk. I wasn’t too interested in those metal trashcans so I decided to find something different. The trashcan comes in a few different colors, including splash paint, which I had wanted to get. To keep the colors neutral, I opted for this one.

Being a college student, laundry is one of the big experiences that I will have to go through. I decided to buy a laundry bag that is completely durable and cute at the same time. Who says laundry has to be mundane? So to make it fun, I had to buy something that I love, especially one with gold polka dots.

Bed, Bath and Beyond has helped me find my college essentials without making it so difficult. I love shopping here for college materials because they have basic and unique finds at decent prices. I also love their decor and bedding that is reasonable for college student budgets. Bed, Bath and Beyond has helped me find everything on my list for my dorm.

Trend Alert: Off the Shoulder

One of my favorite trends right now is the off the shoulder look. I find this look to be sophisticated yet edgy at the same time. Shoulders have been considered scandalous, mostly at my school, for the longest time and it is time to show some skin.

Burnt orange is a big color for the summer and this outfit reminds me of something that I would wear if I was visiting a beach in another country. I like adding a few pieces of jewelry so the focus is not taken away from the dress. I love the hat how it adds a bit of a bohemian touch to it so I decided to add a bag and shoes to match it.

This is a different type of style, known as the ‘cold shoulder’. I love the top of the dress it is quite different with unique colors. I like to match shoes with the bags. I imagine this dress being worn on the islands of Greece just enjoying the view. With a high ponytail, the hoop earrings will look amazing with the outfit.

This look is a bit edgy with the ripped shorts and the black shoes. This is something that I might possibly wear to a music festival or just a night out to town. I love the top with the lacey details as it contrasts with the rest of the outfit to give it a soft touch.

This outfit is also different as the off the shoulder trend is on a romper. I love the bright colors that are perfect for spring and summer, especially the blue is huge for the season. I love blue and to be able to add color to this outfit, it creates the perfect touch. Since the shoes have gold metal, I decided to add a few pieces of accessories that match the metals. The beach hat also adds a fun touch to it.

This a casual outfit where the floral top juxtaposes distressed boyfriend jeans. I added espadrilles because they are easy and fun to wear. Espadrilles are the perfect summer shoes because they do not have to horrible to wear in such hot conditions.
I absolutely love this trend and you will be able to find similar items at Urban Outfitters, Zara, Forever 21 and many more!

My Halloween Costume

If you have ever been a senior in high school, you will understand the struggle on catching up with the time and personal lives due to the many projects and college applications to do. Here is my Halloween costume from like 3 weeks ago. Instead of going out, I had fun at work as a creepy doll when people thought I was literally just 12 years old.

Mixing with Plaid | OOTD

For some silly reason, I did not get pictures of all my outfits when I started work. I wish I did. But here is one that I got pictures with because I thought it was unique and fun!

I absolutely love the textures on this skirt, it has a few different colors but the main color is the burgundy color which is my favorite for fall. I also picked this plaid top from my work the other week, fighting with my co-worker who would get it (I obviously bought it without her knowing). I did not know it was a blouse but I love the dark blue with the deep red color. My booties are also suede so it gives that kind of 70’s feel to it as well.

Homecoming 2015

My last ever homecoming dance was last week and I had the most fun time ever! We had taken pictures, went out to dinner and tried to get to the dance fashionably late to seem cool, since we’re seniors, but only ended up 5 minutes after the dance had started.

For my dress, I wanted something more sophisticated and mature since I am 18 for Pete’s sake. I picked this dress from Free People with white under lay with blue lace. I choose suede gray heels because I felt like it would look amazing and it is different.

Taking Flight | OOTD

Yesterday, my mom and I went to the mall to go job hunting and I went to Forever 21 and my mom noticed this dress. I fell in love with this blue dress. It is fun and whimsical with the bird pattern. The back is very unique and confusing to put on but I love the breezy feel to it.

As you can see, I cut my hair and I had wanted a change. I am so used to seeing girls with long hair so I decided to go against it. As you can see, my dog is also excited.

PS. my mom took these pictures so I trying to teach her how to.
